Chhatarpur, 25 April (HS). Under the Lok Sabha General Election 2024, voting is to be held in the second phase in Chhatarpur district on April 26. On Thursday, material was distributed to the polling parties for all the assembly constituencies of the district, after which after matching the material, the polling parties left for their respective polling centers with full enthusiasm to conduct the elections in order.
Collector and District Election Officer Sandeep G.R. And SP Agam Jain inspected the material distribution center set up in Government School of Excellence No. 1, Chhatarpur and discussed with the polling parties and congratulated them for conducting the voting in a peaceful, fair and free manner. Meanwhile, there was massive chaos and suffering among the employees, which was seen and heard.

It was claimed that the material distribution site would include drinking water, coolers, fans, shady tents, canteen, help desk, medical facilities including ambulance etc. but the arrangements for drinking water and seating in shady tents on the spot were found to be inadequate.
The District Election Officer had directed the officers to take special care to ensure that there is no inconvenience of any kind, but his order could not be fully implemented. The parking arrangements for the employees were improved whereas due to lack of smooth traffic system, polling parties along with the general public had to face a lot of trouble. There was a traffic jam from Panna Naka to Chhatrasal Chowk and the residents behind Utkrisht Vidyalaya No. 1 and 2 were stopped from carrying out their daily activities by putting up barricades. The road behind Abhari Khare Hospital Ki Gali, No. 1, New Colony was blocked. Apart from this, there was traffic jam due to movement of traffic from Panna Naka via Mahal Road via Police Line. People had to face a lot of trouble for important works like hospital and court. During this time, a big challenge was faced by the police force deployed for security. There was a lot of resentment among the people due to the disturbances and arguments between the police and the common people were seen.
16-16 counters have been made at the assembly level for distribution of voting material for the elections. For the convenience of polling parties, color codes have been set at the assembly level. In which banners etc. related to the polling parties going to the assemblies were seen to be of one color.
On reaching the polling station, there was welcome and there was chaos.
