Chhatarpur: A nine year old girl going to the temple with her brother was thrown into a well and also pelted with stones.

Chhatarpur, 11 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Thursday night, a person threw a nine-year-old girl into a well in village Devkulia under Rajnagar police station area in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. After this, stones were also thrown from above. The girl was going to the temple with her elder brother. The attacker also threw stones at the brother. Somehow he ran to save his life, but the girl died. The incident took place on Thursday night at around 10 pm. On receiving the information, at around 1 o'clock in the night, the police reached the spot and took out the girl's body from the well and the post-mortem was conducted on Friday morning. The police have arrested the accused.

Police said that the name of the deceased girl is Mohini Shriwas (9), daughter of Manoj Shriwas. She studied in fourth class and lived with her grandparents and uncle in village Devkuliya. The girl's family works as laborers in Delhi. Accused Govardhan Patel is a resident of this village. During interrogation, accused Govardhan Patel has confessed to the crime. The girl's anklet has also been seized from him. During interrogation, he told that the girl used to tease him for a long time. Was angry about this. If the girl's brother had not run away, he would have killed him too. The accused was produced in the court and sent to jail.

Mohini's 10 year old cousin was also present at the time of the incident. The child told that we were going to the temple at night. We reached near the well, accused Govardhan Patel was hiding behind it. He held his sister's hand and pushed her into the well. When I raised an alarm, he threw stones at me. My hand is also hurt. When the sister who had fallen in the well screamed, the accused pelted her with stones, due to which her head broke. Mohini's mother Maya told that her daughter had gone to the temple to worship, when Govardhan of the village pushed her into the well. Throw stones from above till she died. Sister-in-law's son was also there. He ran away, but the girl died.

Khajuraho SDOP Salil Sharma said that the investigation so far in the case has revealed that the girl had ever teased the accused on some issue. The accused was angry because of this. Late night the accused Govardhan Patel has been arrested. He was hiding in the field. The girl's younger brother has also been medically examined. Statements of the girl's family and the accused are being taken.
