The rescue operation to save four-year-old Chetna, who fell into a borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, is in its final stages. After digging 170 feet deep, an L-shaped pipe has been built to reach Chetna. The rescue work has been intensified with the help of a crane weighing 100 tonnes. Teams of NDRF, SDRF and doctors are present on the spot.

The rescue operation to save four-year-old girl Chetna, who fell into a borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, is in its final stages. In this four-day campaign, parallel borewells have been dug to a depth of 170 feet so far. The process of reaching consciousness is completed through the L shaped pipe. The welding work of the horizontal portion of the pipe has also been completed.

A team of rat miners, active in the Uttarakhand tunnel disaster, has been deployed in the rescue operation, which will try to get Chetna out safely. However, the work was hampered by incessant rains, resulting in repeated halts of excavation work. Now, with the help of a 100 ton capacity crane, a 30 feet long liner pipe is being laid in the inner casing, due to which the work has speeded up.

Due to low capacity, the existing 50 tonne crane had to be sent back. The rescue team has covered the borewell on all sides to prevent rain water from entering. Officials of NDRF, SDRF, district administration and local police are at the spot. After bringing Chetna out, she will be taken to Kotputli Hospital by ambulance, where a team of doctors is ready for treatment.

Girl trapped in 150 feet deep borewell

Chetna fell into a borewell while playing in her father’s agricultural farm at Badiyali Dhani under Sarund police station in Kotputli-Behror district. The girl remained trapped in a 150 feet deep borewell for more than 70 hours. With each passing moment, hopes for the girl’s recovery are diminishing, as the rescue team is unable to provide food or water to Chetna.

NDRF and SDRF teams are working continuously with the help of local police and administration. Initially an attempt was made to take the girl out of the borewell with the help of a ring, but all efforts failed. After repeated efforts for two days yielded no results, a pit was dug parallel to the borewell on Wednesday morning. Now, with the help of a 100 ton capacity crane, a 30 feet long liner pipe is being laid in the inner casing, due to which the work has speeded up. Let us tell you that the girl has been trapped in the borewell without food and water for several hours. Since the child is not visible on camera, the current state of consciousness could not be known.
