News India Live, Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for the first time after Pahalgam terror attack Jammu and Kashmir Will visit During his tour, he will launch and inaugurate several major development projects of more than Rs 46,000 crore, including the main Katra region. The aim of these projects is to improve connectivity, promote tourism and strengthen healthcare and infrastructure in the region.

The biggest attraction of this trip The Chenab Rail Bridge will be inaugurated, now the world’s highest railway Arch bridge. Built at an altitude of 359 meters from the Chenab River, the bridge is 1,315 meters long and is designed to withstand strong winds and earthquakes. This will help to connect Jammu and Srinagar more efficiently, reduce travel time and improve security in this mountainous region.

Anji Bridge will also be inaugurated. It is India’s first cable-set rail bridge. This is another engineering miracle that will provide a stable railway connection in inaccessible areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Vande Bharat trains will be flagged off

Prime Minister Modi will also flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains running between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. These semi-high-speed trains will make the journey between Katra and Srinagar very fast, which will take only 3 hours and provide a comfortable, reliable option for pilgrims, tourists and local residents.

Another major achievement will have to be dedicated to the Nation, Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. The 272 km long railway project has been under construction for many years and includes 36 tunnels (extending up to 119 km) and 943 bridges. It has been built at a cost of about Rs 43,780 crore. The USBRL will provide direct railway connectivity in all seasons between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India, which will help both regional development and rapid mobility.

New medical institute in Katra

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical Excellence Institute in Katra. This will be the first medical college in Reasi district, built at a cost of more than Rs 350 crore and it is expected to improve healthcare and medical education in the region.

Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Tomorrow is an important day for Jammu and Kashmir. We will launch development projects worth Rs 46,000 crore, which will improve the quality of infrastructure and life. Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat trains will promote spiritual tourism and Chenab Bridge is an extraordinary engineering achievement.”
