Andhra Liquor Policy: There is good news for liquor lovers who are troubled by the ever-increasing prices. The Chandrababu Naidu government of Andhra Pradesh has formulated a new policy for all the lovers, which is going to make them happy. The state government has made arrangements for cheap liquor for all the residents of the state.
New rules will come into effect from October 1
The state cabinet meeting was held in Amaravati on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in which the new liquor policy of the state was approved. In the new policy, the state government has reduced the prices of all brands of liquor. After the implementation of the new rules, people in Andhra Pradesh will be able to buy any brand of liquor for just Rs 99. The new rules are going to be implemented from the beginning of next month i.e. October 1.

According to a report in The Hindu, after the implementation of the new policy of the Andhra Pradesh government, customers will be able to buy a 180 ml pack of any established brand of liquor for just Rs 99. The Andhra Pradesh government says that it has tried to ensure quality, quantity and affordability in formulating the new liquor policy.
License for 2 years, shops will remain open for longer hours
Many other major changes have also been made in the new policy. Now liquor shops in Andhra Pradesh will be given licenses for 2 years through a lottery system. Liquor shops in the state will now go into private hands. The government has also decided to increase the opening hours of these shops. After the implementation of the new rule, liquor shops in Andhra Pradesh can be opened from 10 am to 10 pm.
Shop owners get 20% profit
Under the new policy, an application fee of Rs 2 lakh will have to be paid to obtain a license, which is non-refundable. Four slabs have been fixed for the license fee, ranging from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 85 lakh. 10 per cent of the shops will be reserved for toddy tappers. There is also a target to open 15 premium liquor shops in the state, which will be given license for 5 years. Under the new policy, liquor shop owners will get 20 per cent of their sales as profit.
The government's income will increase by this much
The Naidu government believes that the implementation of the new liquor policy will lead to a tremendous increase of about Rs 2 thousand crore in the revenue of Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, the Andhra Pradesh government feels that the new policy will also help in controlling crimes in the state. This change is also expected to curb liquor smuggling in the state.
