Katra, 27 November (Hindustanism). Veteran Congress leader, former MP Chaudhary Lal Singh along with former ministers Raman Bhalla, Manohar Lal Sharma, Ravinder Sharma and other veteran leaders reached Katra in support of the workers in Katra and to oppose the ropeway.

While addressing the people, Chaudhary Lal Singh said that even after 15 days’ time was given by DC Reasi, the police still used force on the workers. Today all the leaders have reached Katra to protest against this. He said that injustice will not be allowed to the workers at any cost. Congress party will always talk for the rights of workers.

He said that the Shrine Board which is going to install ropeway (gondola) from Tarakot road to Sanjhishat is not in the interest of the local people. Choudhary Lal Singh said that development works are those which provide employment to people, good parks are built, good streets are built, good roads are built and no kind of development takes place by taking away people’s employment. If the ropeway is installed, it will affect the work of laborers as well as the work related to all businessmen.

Apart from this, on the old traditional route of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Banganga, Charan Bhaduka Temple, Ardhkuwari are religious places associated with the faith of our devotees. If a Gondola is installed from Tarakot then these religious places will be left aside. Once again, further decision will be taken by sitting and discussing with all the organizations of Katra and Purana Darud, traders and laborers working on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Marg. On this occasion, laborers or Congress leaders Bhupendra Singh Jamwal, Sohan Chand, Sonu Thakur, Karan Singh, Baliram, Vikas Sharma, Vikram Singh along with a large number of local people or laborers were present.
