Kanpur, 06 March (HS). The troubles of SP MLA from Arya Nagar seat of Kanpur, Irfan Solanki, who is lodged in Maharajganj jail, are not showing any signs of abating. On one hand, while he and his associates are accused of arson on a woman's plot, on the other hand, due to fear of the police, Irfan had fled to Mumbai by air in this case. In this journey, he had used a fake Aadhaar card, on which charges were framed by the MP-MLA court on Wednesday.
Irfan's lawyer Shivkant Dixit said on Wednesday that the MP-MLA court has framed charges against seven accused including SP MLA Irfan Solanki in the air travel case against Irfan using fake Aadhaar card. The next hearing of the case will be on March 18. The court framed charges against Irfan and six other people in the case of arson on a woman's plot in Jajmau. The decision has not yet been taken in the case of code of conduct violation against MLA Irfan Solanki, who is lodged in Maharaj Ganj jail.
Irfan's lawyer Shivakant Dixit said that the Uttar Pradesh government has filed a petition in the High Court in this matter. The decision will come from Kanpur court only after the petition is decided. For now, Irfan will have to remain in jail.
