Ranchi, June 25 (HS). Charges were framed against Pradeep Bagchi, the fake owner of 4.55 acres of army-occupied land in Bariatu, in the court of PLMA Special Judge Rajiv Ranjan on Tuesday. Bagchi is accused of taking two holdings of the said land on the basis of fake Aadhaar card, electricity bill and fake positional letter.
Testimony in the case will begin from July 8. Municipal Corporation collector Dilip Sharma had filed a case of fraud against Pradeep Bagchi in Bariatu police station under case number 141/2022. Pradeep Bagchi was made a fake Raiyat of 4.55 acres of land occupied by the army. On the basis of fake documents, Pradeep Bagchi sold the land to Dilip Ghosh of Jagat Bandhu Tea State Company for seven crores. Government officials were also involved in preparing fake documents and buying and selling.
It is noteworthy that this case registered in Bariatu police station was taken over by ED and ECI 1/2023 was registered. Regarding the case, ED raided the hideouts of Ranchi former Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan, Deputy Revenue Officer of Barangai Zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad and other land dealers on 13 and 14 April 2023.
