Chardham Yatra 2024: More than 21 lakh devotees registered online for Chardham Yatra starting from May 10


Chardham Yatra 2024: Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham are going to be buzzing with devotees in the coming days. With the commencement of Chardham Yatra from May 10, the doors of Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are going to open for the devotees. The doors of these holy places will be opened on the auspicious time of Akshaya Tritiya. So from May 12, the court of Badrinath will also echo with the cheers of Badri-Vishal. In such a situation, the temple committee is busy in decorating the holy places. Administrative teams are also reaching Dham daily to monitor other arrangements.

Even before the start of the journey, the booking figures for these resorts are creating new records. Online registration, which started on April 15, is now available for the month of June, as the number of online registrations has crossed 21 lakh by the beginning of May. For this reason the booking gets full in the month of May. This time more than 7 lakh 41 thousand people have registered for Kedarnath Yatra. Whereas more than 7 lakh 38 thousand people have registered for Badrinath. At the same time, more than 38 lakh and 33 lakh people have registered for Gangotri and Yamunotri respectively.

For the convenience of pilgrims traveling without registration, offline registration facility has started in Haridwar and Rishikesh from May 8. It is expected that offline registration will also increase the number of pilgrims.

Importance of Kedarnath

Kedarnath is a holy place of Lord Shiva in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Lakhs of people come here every year. Kedarnath is also considered among the twelve Jyotirlingas and Panch Kedars of Lord Shiva. The Shivalinga installed in Kedarnath temple is self-sufficient. Due to which the importance of the temple increases.

Importance of Badrinath

Badrinath is considered one of the major Dhams among the Char Dhams. It is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River in the Himalayan mountain range. It is mainly a temple of Lord Vishnu. Nara and Narayana are worshiped here. The temple is divided into three parts – sanctum sanctorum, darshan mandap and sabha mandap. There are 15 statues in the Badrinath temple complex, the most famous of which is the statue of Lord Vishnu.
