Chardham Registration: There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees across the country regarding the Chardham Yatra. Within 11 days of the start of registration, more than 15 lakh 12 thousand devotees have registered for darshan. GMVN Advance booking of more than Rs 8 crore has been done for it.
Pilgrims can register online before visiting the four Dhams including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath. It is noteworthy that without Chardham registration, no pilgrim will be allowed to travel.
The corporation expects bookings to cross Rs 100 crore. Last year about 55 lakh devotees visited Chardham. This time the tour is expected to be at a record level. Arrangements are being made by the government administration regarding the Chardham Yatra.
There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees regarding the Chardham Yatra. In the last 11 days, 15,12,993 devotees have registered themselves. With huge number of registrations, advance booking of GMVN has also crossed the 8.25 crore mark.
This time the bookings of GMVN are to cross 100 crores. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that this time all the old records of Chardham Yatra will be broken. The Tourism Minister said that the way a large number of passengers are registering, it is clear that this time a new record will be made.
Last year, 54.82 lakh devotees participated in the Chardham Yatra. This time, even before the start of the Yatra, there is a continuous increase in the booking of GMVN guest houses on the Yatra route. Bookings worth Rs 8.25 crore have been done from 22 February 2024 till now.
Registration of devotees coming for Chardham Yatra has been started from April 15. So far, 277901 pilgrims have registered for Gangotri, 253883 for Yamunotri, 521052 for Kedarnath, 436688 for Badrinath and 23469 for Hemkund Sahib.
State level control room established at the headquarters: A state level control room has been established at the headquarters of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council for Chardham Yatra. This control room will remain active from 7 am to 10 pm.

Protest against unplanned construction in Kedarnath Dham
Dehradun. Chardham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat has protested against the damage to the residences and business establishments of the Teerth priests in Kedarnath Dham. The Mahapanchayat has warned of protest against digging pits in front of buildings in the four Dhams and stopping unplanned construction.
The Mahapanchayat opposed the digging of a pit in front of the residence of local pilgrim priests in Kedarnath Dham. Mahapanchayat President Suresh Semwal and General Secretary Dr. Brijesh Sati said that the local administration took unilateral action during the fake bandh without the consent of the pilgrimage priests.
Special focus on cleanliness in Chardham
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that special attention will be paid to cleanliness during the Chardham Yatra. Currently 147 permanent toilets with 1584 seats have been provided by Accessibility International.
Apart from this, 82 seats are operational on Gangotri, Yamunotri route, a total of 251 seats at various places in Rudraprayag, 60 seats on Chamoli Yatra route and 80 seats on Hemkund Sahib Yatra route.
Arrangement of tokens and slots for darshan
The Tourism Minister said that arrangements for tokens and slots have been made so that devotees do not have to stand in long queues during Dev Darshan. The agencies involved in the registration, tokenization and verification system and tourism department officials will conduct on-site inspection of the camps and select sites. Devotees will not have to wait for more than an hour.
