Patna, 01 October (HS). The floods in North Bihar due to Nepal's rains are entering new areas every day. After West Champaran-East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, it has now started spreading in new areas of Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga, causing trouble for the people living in the flood areas. Two bodies were pulled out of flood waters in Araria district on Tuesday.
Two died in Araria
Two have died due to drowning in flood water in Araria. The bodies of a teenage girl and another youth were found on Tuesday amid the problem of flooding caused by the spread of water in low-lying areas due to the increase in the water level of the rivers flowing in Araria. Both the cases are from two different police station areas, Raniganj and Jokihat.
A teenage girl named Habiba died due to drowning in the sand stream near Dhanpura of Jokihat police station area. The second case is of Koshkapur North Panchayat of Raniganj police station area. Here, 40-year-old Sikendra Rishidev, resident of ward number one Nityanand Rishidev Tola, drowned in deep water while bringing cattle from the farm.
Darbhanga's Kiratpur and Supaul flood affected
According to Darbhanga District Magistrate, Kiratpur and Supaul of Darbhanga are affected by floods. The people of the area have been affected due to the breaking of the Kosi river dam located in the Saharsa border area of Kiratpur district. The flood water is spreading rapidly, due to which life in the area has become disrupted. Sadar SDO Sweta Bharti along with local officials inspected the broken ring dam of Sikarhana river in Ward No. 1 of Sugauli North Sugaon Panchayat in East Champaran district on Tuesday. He directed the local authorities to get the dam repaired quickly for public safety.
38 boats for flood victims in Muzaffarpur
In Aurai Katra of Muzaffarpur district, the administration has said that 38 boats have been made available at the government level. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramod Kumar said that an official arrangement of 38 names has been made in Aurai and Katra areas, which is working smoothly. Messages from people of rural areas have been received through social media. By establishing coordination with the local administration, everyone will soon be evacuated to a safe place and government arrangements will reach them.
On the other hand, the local people are pleading for help from the administration as a matter of humanity. Some intellectuals have posted messages on social media that even after more than 24 hours, no facilities have been provided by the administration in the rural areas of Aurai and Katra, where there are a lot of problems. More than 24 hours have passed since flood water arrived in Katra PSS and electricity is affected. At the local level, grocers are demanding nominal prices for the goods.
13 houses merged into river in Kishanganj
