Changing story and cast did harm

Popular TV serial ‘Anupama’, which remained on the top of the TRP list for a long time, has now slipped to the third position. Rupali Ganguly’s show, which was a favorite with the audience, has been facing falling TRPs in recent times. Rajan Shahi’s other shows ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Udne Ki Aasha’ have left it behind.

The TRP fall started with the removal of the serial’s important characters Vanraj Shah (Sudhanshu Pandey) and Anuj Kapadia (Gaurav Khanna) from the show. After this, rapid changes were made in the story of the show, due to which the audience’s engagement started weakening.

  “TRP matters to everyone, be it actors or caterers. However, for me, providing good content is equally important. DKP always focuses on fewer shows to maintain quality.”
  He also admitted that shows like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ have also seen ups and downs, but there are logical reasons behind these changes.
