Change in timings of government departments

New Delhi: Changes in office arrival and departure timings have been announced for various divisions of Delhi to reduce traffic congestion and increasing pollution levels. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi gave information in this regard by making a post on X.

According to the new order, Delhi government offices will follow staggered working hours during peak hours to help reduce traffic and air pollution. This order has been implemented with immediate effect.

According to the new order, office timings for Delhi Municipal Corporation employees will be from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm. Office timings for central government employees will be from 9 am to 5.30 pm.

Office timings for employees of other departments of Delhi Government will be from 10 am to 6.30 pm. The purpose of this change is to reduce vehicular congestion on the roads, reduce smog pollution and provide relief to office workers from traffic jams during peak hours.

Smoke emitted from vehicles is also considered a major cause of air pollution in Delhi. Despite the ban on stubble burning and firecrackers, pollution is not reducing in Delhi.

According to the Commission on Quality Management (CAQM), vehicular emissions account for 13.3 per cent of Delhi’s pollution.

The entire North India including Delhi-NCR is covered in a white blanket of fog for the last two days. Trains and flights are getting delayed due to fog. Many flights to Amritsar, Chandigarh and Delhi were delayed.

More than 30 trains coming to Delhi are running late. The effect of fog is being seen on more than 50 trains of Delhi-NCR. More than 300 flights were delayed at Delhi airport.
