An explosion was reported in a house in Sector 10 area of ​​Chandigarh on Wednesday evening. According to sources at the time, it was a suspected low-intensity grenade attack. There were no casualties in the incident, but some windows and utensils in the garden were damaged, police said.

Police said the incident is related to former tenants and they are investigating this aspect. They said there was a 7 to 8 inch crater where the grenade fell. Police have arrested the auto driver who was carrying two suspects in connection with the blast. They have started questioning them.

The suspect was seen fleeing in an autorickshaw

Soon after the blast, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene in an autorickshaw. The auto narrowly escaped hitting another car while the area was being evacuated. According to police, the owner claimed that two people sitting in the auto rickshaw hurled the grenade. He said investigations were underway to ascertain the cause of the blast.

A reward of Rs 2 lakh was announced

Chandigarh Police has announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information about the suspects. The police have now officially released the pictures of the suspects. Anyone giving information about them will be given a reward of Rs 2 lakh. CCTV footage from various checkpoints, roundabouts and different angles shows them moving around in autorickshaws and on foot.

A grenade exploded in the courtyard in front of the house where Malhotra's son was sitting after taking a loan. However, apart from damage to the glass windows, there were no casualties or injuries from the explosion. The suspicious auto rickshaw was captured in CCTV installed nearby.
