Amethi, 05 October (HS). Chandan Verma, the accused who committed mass massacre of a Dalit teacher family in Ahorwa Bhawani under Shivratanganj police station of the district, had a late night encounter with Amethi police. Accused Chandan Verma was shot in his right leg. The police have admitted the injured accused to Community Health Center Tiloi for treatment.
It is noteworthy that on Friday afternoon, UP STF arrested the accused Chandan Verma from Jewar Toll Plaza of Gautam Buddha Nagar and lodged him in Shivratanganj police station. Which was disclosed by Amethi Superintendent of Police Anup Kumar Singh at the police office Gauriganj around 11 pm. After this, the police was taking Chandan Verma to the place told by the accused Chandan Verma, the murderer of four people, to recover the pistol used in the incident. Then, as soon as the entire Vindhya Diwan reached the forest near the canal track, Chandan Verma snatched the pistol of a sub-inspector and started firing with the intention of killing him. Immediately the police, defending themselves, retaliated on the accused Chandan Verma. Due to which he got shot in his right leg. As soon as Chandan was shot in the leg, he fell there and started crying. After this, the police took the injured Chandan Verma to CHC Tiloi for treatment.
In this case, Additional Superintendent of Police of the district Harendra Kumar said that on October 3, four people were shot dead in village Ahorwa Bhawani of Shiv Ratanganj police station. Whose main accused Chandan Verma was arrested on 4 October. On the basis of the interrogation of the accused, the police took him to recover the pistol used in the murder. During this time, accused Chandan Verma snatched the pistol from Sub Inspector Madan Kumar and attacked the police party to kill him. The police party also fired in defence. Due to which the accused got shot in his right leg. The accused has been brought to CHC for treatment. Also, advance legal action is being taken by the police.
