Weather of Punjab and Chandigarh: The cold in the morning and evening has increased in Punjab and Chandigarh. Along with this, the maximum temperature of the day has also declined. The average maximum temperature has dropped by 0.1 degrees in 24 hours. The highest temperature was recorded at 36.6 degrees in Bathinda. Today there is a possibility of rain at some places in three districts Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Amritsar. On the other hand, stubble burning is also not stopping.
Due to this the Air Quality Index (AQI) is continuously falling. The AQI situation in Chandigarh is worse than Punjab. Chandigarh's AQI was recorded at 228 at 5 am on Tuesday. The city is now in the Orange Zone. The situation is likely to worsen on Diwali. Along with this, the health department has advised people to remain alert.
It is believed that the AQI level in Punjab is deteriorating due to stubble burning. The district administration has also taken strict steps for this. But even after this, cases of stubble burning are coming to light. Till Monday evening, 142 cases of stubble burning have been reported. With this their total number has increased to 2137. Meanwhile, 19 cases have been reported in Sangrur, 14 in Firozpur, 13 in Kapurthala, 16 in Patiala, 14 in Tarn Taran, seven each in Mansa and Gurdaspur and less than six in other districts.
Due to this, Punjab has come into A0I zone. Amritsar's AQI is 175, Bathinda's AQI 123, Jalandhar's AQI 137, Khanna's AQI 156, Ludhiana's AQI 138, Mandi Gobindgarh's AQI 179, Patiala's AQI 158 and Rupnagar's AQI 158. AQI is measured at three centers in Chandigarh. During this period, AQI level of Sector-22 has been recorded as 211, AQI level of Sector-25 has been recorded as 193, AQI level of Sector-53 has been recorded as 228.
Morning and evening walks should be avoided
AQI levels are worsening in the districts. An advisory has also been issued by the Health Department. The advisory states that due to the worsening of AQI in a few days, the severity of these symptoms is being seen in children and the elderly, especially those suffering from asthma and respiratory diseases. The influx of these patients in hospitals has increased. In such a situation, people should avoid walking in the morning and evening. Mask should be worn while leaving the house.

Jalandhar- The temperature was recorded at 32.4 degrees on Monday evening. The weather will be clear today. The temperature will be between 17 to 33 degrees.
Patiala- The maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 32.5 degrees. The weather will be clear today. The temperature will be recorded between 21 degrees to 32 degrees.
Mohali- Yesterday the maximum temperature was recorded at 32.0 degrees. It will be cloudy. Today the temperature can remain between 19 degrees to 34 degrees.
Ludhiana- The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 32.2 degrees. It will be cloudy today. The temperature was recorded between 20 to 32 degrees.
