ICC Champions Trophy 2025 , The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan next year. A total of 8 teams will participate in this upcoming cricket tournament. The ICC has also approved the tournament schedule submitted by the PCB. But there is no clear position yet on whether India will play in Pakistan or not. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has recently been elected as the new President of the ICC. He will take charge of this post from December 1. Meanwhile, after the election of Jai Shah as ICC President, the role of Pakistan has weakened. Pakistan's legendary player Yunus Khan has made a humble appeal to Jai Shah.
Yunus Khan believes that Jay Shah should show sportsmanship after becoming the new ICC president. He said, “The game of cricket should be in a better condition after Jay Shah becomes the ICC president. Jay Shah should show good sportsmanship here. As the president, India comes to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy and on the other hand the Pakistan team goes to play in India, this will be a good decision.”
What did Yunus Khan say?
India and Pakistan have clashed with each other many times in the last two decades. But after the 2008 Asia Cup, the Indian team never went to Pakistan to play cricket. After the Mumbai terror attack in 2008, India refused to send Team India to Pakistan, since then the Indian team has not played a single match in Pakistan. Speaking on this background, Yunus Khan clearly said that “Jay Shah will no longer be the BCCI secretary. He has now become the ICC President. So now he should try to improve relations between the two countries with the help of cricket.”
All India match scheduled in Lahore
The ICC has approved the proposed schedule of the Champions Trophy 2025 sent by the Pakistan Cricket Board. According to this schedule, all the matches of Team India will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. According to the schedule, India has been placed in Group A along with Bangladesh, New Zealand and Pakistan. Both the semi-final matches will be played elsewhere, but even if India reaches the semi-finals, the PCB has also planned to shift India's match to Lahore. But the BCCI has not yet taken any official stand on whether Team India will tour Pakistan or not.
