Prayagraj, 22 July (HS). Allahabad High Court has sought information from the Central Government on the PIL challenging the notification declaring Constitution Murder Day. It has been said in the PIL that there is no provision in the Constitution to take such a decision.
This order was given by the division bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhasali and Justice Vikas Budhwar on Monday. In the PIL filed by Santosh Kumar Dohre, the constitutionality of the notification issued on 11th July to declare 25th June every year as Constitution Murder Day has been challenged. Along with this, it has been demanded to declare it unconstitutional by calling it contempt of the Constitution. The court has asked the Central Government's advocate to obtain information in this matter and has fixed 31st July for hearing.
