PM Modi's gift to farmers: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has given a statement about preparing a roadmap to increase the income of farmers and strengthen agriculture. He said, “If we have to increase production and reduce costs, then having good seeds is most important. Today, in this era of climate change where the temperature of the earth's surface is constantly increasing, we need seeds that are climate-friendly.” They can produce well even in rising temperatures.
The Agriculture Minister said, “It is important to reduce the use of pesticides. I am happy to say that the Indian Council of Agricultural Research is continuously engaged in this work and recently 109 new varieties of seeds have been developed.”
We will strengthen the agriculture sector- Shivraj
The Agriculture Minister said that the first priority of the Prime Minister is agriculture and farmers. He assured that the central government will strengthen the agriculture sector along with increasing the income of farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit ICAR farms on Sunday (August 11, 2024). The Agriculture Minister said that PM Modi will release 109 varieties of crops from there. He said that PM Modi will also talk to the farmers. The Agriculture Minister said that our aim is to bring the benefits of science and research directly to the farmers.
Central government will build 2 crore new houses
Referring to the cabinet meeting held on Friday (August 9, 2024), Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “I also have the Rural Development Ministry. We will build 2 crore more new houses for the poor.” Regarding the campaign to hoist the tricolor in every house, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “I appeal to all of you to hoist the tricolor in your respective houses.
109 crop varieties to be released
During this period, 109 varieties of 61 crops will be released, including 34 regional crops and 27 horticultural crops. A statement issued by the PMO said that seeds of various cereals including millets, fodder crops, oilseeds, pulses, sugarcane, cotton, fibre crops and other potential crops will be introduced.
