Central security forces have to return from Jammu and Kashmir. Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed about this historic decision. He said that now Jammu and Kashmir Police will be sufficient for normal law and order management of the state, hence the Army and CRPF will be called back. Amit Shah said this in an interview given to a local TV channel. Amit Shah further said that the process of withdrawing central forces will start after the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah also said that removal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Jammu and Kashmir will also be considered. It is believed that by making this statement, Amit Shah has played a big bet on the voters of Jammu and Kashmir before the Lok Sabha elections. The Home Minister also talked to the figures on the situation after the removal of Article 370 from the state. He said how after the abrogation of Article 370, pro-Pakistan separatist elements were curbed and public participation in the government and institutions increased.

The Home Minister said that since 2019, there has been a huge reduction in the incidents of terrorism and stone pelting in the state. It is noteworthy that behind this statement of Amit Shah there is a big message for the people of the state. The Supreme Court has directed to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by 30th September and in view of this, this message of the Union Home Minister is very important.

What is AFSPA Act?

AFSPA empowers armed forces personnel serving in disturbed areas to take action if necessary to maintain public order. Can arrest and even shoot. AFSPA can declare any area or district as disturbed to facilitate operations of the armed forces. Now terrorist activities have reduced in the state.

Trust Kashmir Police

Earlier, suspicion was expressed on Jammu and Kashmir Police, but now there is complete trust in them. Today the situation is that the state police is leading the anti-terrorism operation. Amit Shah said that those who were defending Article 370 by invoking Islam and Muslims, should know that 80 percent of the people killed in terrorist incidents were Muslims.
