Forbesganj/Araria, 26 August (HS). Stop Diarrhea Campaign is being conducted in Araria district from 23 July to 22 September with the aim of controlling diarrhea related cases. In the course of the campaign, ORS and Zinc tablets are being distributed among the identified families with children aged 0 to 5 years and awareness is also being created about the importance of cleanliness to prevent diarrhea. In order to ensure the successful operation of this campaign, National Supervisor of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Indu S visited various blocks of the district and took stock of the campaign.

In this sequence, the national supervisor met the villagers of many villages under Jokihat and Forbesganj blocks of the district and made necessary inquiries from them regarding the campaign. She also monitored the campaign by visiting various health centers, schools and Anganwadi centers. In this sequence, while giving necessary suggestions to protect children from diarrhea, she gave many important instructions to the concerned officials regarding the effective implementation of the campaign. At the same time, National Supervisor Indu S of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, who reached Araria under this tour program, visited Kakan, Simaria Matiyari Panchayat under Jokihat block and Sukhi Tola, Kurba Lakshmipur, Dholbazza and other villages of Forbesganj block and met local villagers, ASHA workers, headmasters of various schools and made necessary inquiries from them regarding the campaign.

He appealed to them for proper cooperation and support in the success of the campaign. National supervisor Indu S said that diarrhea is a disease which can be completely prevented by timely identification and proper treatment. The objective of the Stop Diarrhea campaign is to control the deaths of children due to diarrhea and make the community aware of its preventive measures so that every child can remain safe and healthy.

Through Stop Diarrhea, we are not only distributing ORS and Zinc tablets but are also making the community aware of the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. Our primary objective is to bring the number of child deaths due to diarrhea to zero. During this inspection, SMC UNICEF Aditya Kumar, DCM Saurav Kumar, ADC UNICEF Rakesh Kumar, hospital manager of the concerned block, BCM, BMC and other health officials were present.
