Prayagraj, August 21 (HS). The Central Government has confirmed the appointment of nine additional judges of Allahabad High Court as permanent judges. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notification to this effect under the authority of Article 217 (1) of the Constitution.

In the notification issued by Union Law Ministry Joint Secretary Jagannath Srinivasan, the additional judges whom the President has approved to be made permanent judges include Justice Syed Qamar Hasan Rizvi, Justice Manish Kumar Nigam, Justice Anish Kumar Gupta, Justice Nandprabha Shukla, Justice Kshitij Shailendra, Justice Vinod Diwakar, Justice Prashant Kumar, Justice Manjeev Shukla and Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deswal.

It is worth noting that in Asia's largest High Court with 160 judges, apart from the Chief Justice, 83 judges are working and the special thing is that this will be the first time that all the judges here are permanent. A major reason for this is that not a single additional judge has been appointed after February 2023.
