Center’s focus on Security in Troubled Manipur: Extended for six months of President’s rule

News India Live, Digital Desk: Center’s Focus on Security in Troubled Manipur: In the state of Manipur, where violence and disturbance has been going on for the last several months, the Union Home Ministry has extended the purpose of maintaining peace in the state of the state for the next six months. Information about this important decision has been given by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, and this expansion has become effective from 3 December 2023. It is noteworthy that Manipur, especially from the month of May, is in the grip of frequent violence and ethnic conflicts. The main root of this violence lies in a deep controversy between the major ethnic groups of the state, Maetai and the cookie. There is a situation of severe tension in many areas of the state, due to which prohibitory orders like Section 144 have already been implemented in these affected areas so that any major incident can be stopped and public system is not disturbed. The central government’s move is a part of the continuous efforts to restore peace and general situation in the restless areas. The government believes that in the current situation, it is necessary to maintain central intervention and special forces related to it to maintain law and order and restore confidence between different communities. This step reflects the Center’s commitment to end the ongoing struggle in the state.
