Gaza ceasefire: A resolution has been passed in the United Nations Security Council regarding the ceasefire in Gaza. America did not vote on the proposal but 14 votes were cast in its favor. UNSC Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the resolution should be implemented.

America did not vote on the proposal

America is continuously demanding the release of hostages in Gaza. However, a resolution passed by the UNSC also demanded the release of those hostages, but the US abstained from voting on it. America had earlier presented a resolution in the Security Council, which was vetoed by Russia and China.

PM Benjamin Netanyahu was angry

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was angry that the US did not veto the resolution demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. He says he will not send a delegation to Washington as planned if the UNSC resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is not vetoed. America was continuously pressurizing Israel for a ceasefire. Talks were going on between both the countries regarding this.

America warned

America has warned that the resolution passed on Monday could affect the ongoing talks between America, Egypt and Qatar. For the last few days, the US Secretary of State has been continuously visiting the Middle East and discussing the release of hostages in Gaza. Meanwhile, he has also supported the ceasefire. Now it remains to be seen how soon the resolution passed by the UNSC will be implemented.
