Kanpur, 21 August (HS). The Yogi government is serious about the most important scheme of the Central Government, PM Surya Ghar Yojana. To know the ground reality of this scheme, Chief Development Officer Diksha Jain held a meeting with the engineers of Kesco and Discom and bankers representative and UPNEDA in the Vikas Bhavan auditorium on Wednesday and took information about the applications so far.
Project Officer UPNEDA Rakesh Kumar Pandey said that electricity connection holders whose electricity bill is deposited up to date are eligible for this scheme. Consumers can get solar rooftop plant installed at their own residence equal to or lesser capacity of the electricity load approved by the Electricity Department. For this, consumers can register themselves by surfing on PM Surya Yojana portal or http://www.pm suryaghar yojna website and can avail the benefits by installing the plant. If consumers want to install it by taking a loan, then in such a situation, they can also get it installed through a loan at a minimum interest rate of 07 percent from the bank by applying on the Jan Samarthan portal linked to the said portal. After the installation of the plant, the work of net metering is done by the concerned discom and electricity distribution company. On completion of net metering work, the consumer himself or with the help of solar rooftop vendor finally uploads all the forms on the portal for getting the grant. Within two months of sending the grant demand letter, the amount of grant approved by the State and Government of India will be sent to the consumer's bank account through DBT.
