CBSE has released the official notice for all the schools. The notice said that the Principals/Heads of all affiliated schools are strictly instructed to strictly follow Rules 13 and 14 of the CBSE Examination Bye-laws regarding attendance of students in Class 10th and 12th board examinations.
This much attendance is necessary to appear in the examination.
As per the notice, minimum 75% attendance of students is required to appear in the board exams. It was further stated that the Board allows relaxation of 25 per cent only for medical emergency, participation in national or international sporting events and other serious reasons for which necessary documents should be submitted.
Parents asked to be informed
Schools were directed to inform students and their parents about the attendance requirement and the possible consequences in case of non-compliance. If during surprise inspection of schools by CBSE it is observed that students are absent without proper leave records, it will be considered that they do not come to school regularly, in such a situation CBSE will not allow them to appear for the board examination. .
Along with the instructions, the board has also released the standard operating procedure (SOP) and proforma list for exemption in case of non-appearance. It was also said that after the case of non-attendance is submitted by the school, no changes will be made in the records and the attendance will be counted as on January 1 of the academic session.

Let us tell you that the board has recently released the datesheet of board practical examinations of class 10th and 12th. According to which, practicals will start from 5th November and continue till 5th December.
