Brussels/New Delhi, June 29 (HS). Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Secretary-General Ian Saunders, representative of the World Customs Organization, on the occasion of the WCO Council meeting on Saturday.
In a statement issued on 'X' post, CBIC said that Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Secretary General Ian Saunders, representative of World Customs Organization, during the WCO Council meeting. Under this agreement, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) Palasamudram, Palasamudram has been recognized as the third WCO recognized Customs Training Center of RTC India.
According to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, a delegation led by CBIC Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal and Malgorzata Krok, Deputy Head of National Revenue Administration and Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance of Poland, met during the WCO Council meeting held in Brussels on 29 June 2024. During this meeting, both of them also discussed areas of mutual interest in the field of customs cooperation.
