NEET-UG Paper Leak Case Latest News: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested the mastermind of the NEET-UG paper leak case and two MBBS students. According to a report by news agency PTI, both of them worked as MBBS paper solvers. The two have been identified as Kumar Mangalam Bishnoi and Deependra Kumar and both are students of Bharatpur Medical College.
Officials said technical surveillance has confirmed the presence of Mangalam Bishnoi, a second-year MBBS student, and Dipendra Kumar Sharma, a first-year medical student, in Hazaribagh on the day of the NEET-UG exam. Officials say the two had allegedly worked on solving stolen papers on behalf of an engineer named Pankaj Kumar, who has been arrested earlier.
Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a civil engineer of the 2017 batch of National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), allegedly stole the NEET-UG paper from the NTA trunk in Hazaribagh. Shashikant Paswan alias Shashi alias Pasu, a B.Tech (Electrical) passout from NIT, Jamshedpur, was working on the game along with Kumar and Rocky, who were already arrested.
Earlier on Friday (July 19, 2024), the CBI arrested Surabhi Kumari, a first-year MBBS student of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, for allegedly being part of the solver module. Kumari was taken into custody by the CBI after two days of detailed interrogation, officials said.
Let us tell you that the Supreme Court is hearing several petitions regarding alleged irregularities in the conduct of medical entrance examination including paper leak. NEET-UG is conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions. This year the exam was conducted on 5 May at 4,750 examination centers in 571 cities including 14 foreign cities. More than 23 lakh candidates participated in this exam.
