CBI has summoned SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. CBI has called him for questioning in Delhi on 29th February i.e. tomorrow in the illegal mining case. Akhilesh will appear as a witness in this case. This case of illegal mining happened in Hamirpur between 2012-2016. In January 2019, CBI had arrested the famous IAS officer B. FIR was registered against 11 people including Chandrakala. This information has been received from sources.
CBI has sent summons to Akhilesh Yadav under 160 CrPC. This section empowers the CBI to call any person above 18 years of age as a witness for the investigation.
Then B. Chandrakala was DM of Hamirpur
On January 2, 2019, CBI Deputy SP KK Sharma had registered a case in the Hamirpur illegal mining case. In this case, CBI has arrested IAS B. Raids were conducted at 14 places including Chandrakala's Lucknow flat. These raids were conducted in Kanpur, Lucknow, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Noida.
After this, CBI registered a case under sections 379, 384, 420, 511 120B of IPC and Corruption Act. The FIR states that sand was mined illegally in Hamirpur between 2012 and 2016. According to the complaint, the officials used to extort money from illegal miners and drivers of vehicles transporting illegal sand.
Not only this, government employees were also accused of allowing illegal mineral mining in Hamirpur. Government officials hatched a criminal conspiracy. The tender process was not followed. New leases and renewals are done illegally. Akhilesh Yadav was the Chief Minister of UP between 2012 and 2016. Gayatri Prajapati was the Mining Minister at that time. His department was changed after illegal mining was exposed. This department came to the Chief Minister.
Congress-SP alliance was formed seven days ago
The distribution of seats between Congress and SP was decided on 21 January i.e. 7 days ago. According to this agreement, Congress will contest elections on 17 seats and SP on 63 seats. Earlier both the parties had come together in the 2017 assembly elections.
