CBI registers case against ITS officer for possessing disproportionate assets | News India

New Delhi, August 21 (HS). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Indian Telecommunication Service officer Kunj Bihari Sharma and others on charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA). During the search, the CBI has also recovered Rs 2.5 lakh in cash from the possession of the accused. The CBI gave this information on Tuesday.

Kunj Bihari Sharma, a 1999 batch officer of Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS), is accused of acquiring properties in Jaipur, Ajmer and various other places in Rajasthan in his name and in the name of his family members (wife), (mother) and HUF company while working in Rajasthan. It was also alleged that the accused public servant had accumulated amounts disproportionate to his known sources of income in his name and in the name of his family members.

According to the CBI, the accused had acquired assets worth Rs 1,48,83,998 (approx) during the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 January 2017. CBI

Searches were conducted at the official and residential premises of the accused at 05 places including Jaipur, Ajmer and Ahmedabad (Gujarat), which led to the recovery of incriminating documents and Rs 2.5 lakh from the residence of the accused at Ajmer.
