CBI raids Newtown in Kolkata in NEET paper leak case

Kolkata, 03 July (HS). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team raided the Newtown area of ​​Kolkata on Wednesday in the graduate level medical entrance exam NEET paper leak case. During the investigation in Jharkhand, the name of Amit Kumar, the owner of a flat in Newtown, came to light. The CBI raided this closed flat today, but Amit could not be traced.

Allegations of paper leak and cheating were made in this medical entrance exam across the country. There was a storm from the streets to the Parliament. The Center finally recommended a CBI inquiry in June. The central investigating agency arrested several teachers from different states during the investigation. The CBI also started an investigation in Jharkhand.

Initial speculations are that the first question paper was leaked from Jharkhand a night before the exam and reached Bihar through middlemen. During the investigation in Jharkhand, Amit Kumar's name cropped up. The CBI team is searching Amit's residence. CBI officials claim that Amit Kumar is one of the accused in the NEET question paper leak case.
