CBI eyes 'Ashish' in Kolkata doctor's murder case | News India

Kolkata, September 19 (HS). On August 9, the day of the murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College, a person named Ashish stayed in a guest house in Salt Lake. Now this person has emerged as a suspect in the CBI investigation. In the preliminary investigation, the CBI has got indications that this person may be related to the RG Kar case. For this reason, the CBI has called the hotel officials on Thursday with all the necessary documents. An employee of the hotel has appeared in the CBI office with the register and some other documents.

On August 9, the body of a female doctor was recovered from R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. After this incident, a case of murder and rape has come to light. Kolkata Police had already arrested a civic volunteer in this case. After this, on the instructions of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI took over the investigation of this case. Now in the CBI investigation, this person named Ashish has also become a suspect, who stayed in a guest house in Salt Lake on August 9. The police is now also interrogating the employees of this guest house.

In this murder and rape case of RG Kar Hospital, the police have also arrested former principal Sandip Ghosh and former station house officer of Tala police station Abhijit Mandal on the charge of destroying evidence. They are being questioned in police custody and will be produced in court again on Friday.
