Kolkata, 27 July (HS). A big revelation has been made in the charge sheet of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Municipal Corporation recruitment case.
According to the chargesheet, an employee of the accused Ayan Sheel had committed suicide under his pressure. During the investigation of this case, the CBI questioned another employee of Ayan, Purnendu Chakraborty, who told about the suicide of Kumar Chatterjee, popularly known as 'Badobabu'.
The CBI said in the chargesheet that 'Badababu' committed suicide in 2018. In his suicide note, he had named Ayan and said that he took this step because of Ayan. 'Badababu' used to work as a middleman for recruitment in the Municipal Corporation. He used to collect money from job seekers and arrange for them to get jobs.
Purnendu told the CBI that 'Badobabu' had become depressed due to this work. He was under pressure to return the money collected for getting a job because Ayan did not return the money. Due to this pressure, 'Badobabu' committed suicide. In his suicide note, he wrote that to escape the pressure of Ayan, he wanted to kill his son as well.
The CBI also mentioned in the charge sheet that Ayan used to prepare the question papers for the municipal corporation recruitment examination. A young man named Parth used to assist Ayan in this work. The candidates who appeared in the examination got jobs on the basis of the question papers prepared by Ayan.
According to the CBI chargesheet, two agents of Ayan took a commission of Rs 50,000 per candidate from the candidates recruited in the municipal corporation. Through this corruption, Ayan illegally got jobs for many people in 16 municipal corporations including Kolkata.
