Cattle trader shot dead, Rs 1.5 lakh looted, three miscreants riding on a bike carried out the incident

Araria 07 August (HS). A cattle trader was shot dead in Araria early in the morning. The incident took place near Rampur Canal in Raniganj police station area. Three miscreants riding on a bike shot the cattle trader dead and looted Rs 1.5 lakh from him.

The cattle trader was going from Palasi to Singheshwar in Madhepura to buy cattle. The deceased trader has been identified as Babu Akhtar, 40-year-old son of Mohammed Suleman, a resident of Barbannna village of Palasi police station area. The deceased along with his father were going to Singheshwar in a magic vehicle to buy cattle. Meanwhile, three miscreants riding a Pulsar bike surrounded Babu Akhtar near Rampur canal and shot him in the head and fled after looting Rs. 1.5 lakh. After being shot, the injured Babu Akhtar was taken to Raniganj Referral Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead. Police reached the spot and started investigating the case.

Regarding the incident, the eyewitness of the deceased, father of the deceased, Mohammad Suleman, told that they were going from Barbanna of Palasi to Singheshwar of Madhepura in a magic car to buy cattle. In the same sequence, three miscreants riding a Pulsar bike stopped the car from the front near Rampur canal and shot Babu Akhtar in the head. After the shot, the miscreants fled after looting Rs 1.5 lakh. After the shot, the family took the injured Babu Akhtar to Raniganj Referral Hospital, where the doctor declared the cattle trader dead after examination. After the incident, Raniganj Police Station Officer Sanjay Kumar reached the spot with police officer and forces and started investigating the case. Police took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The family members are inconsolable due to the incident.
