Dhamtari, April 10 (HS). Some cattle owners of village Mujgahan and Ratnabandha, Loharsi village have started leaving their cattle for grazing in the fields illegally at night. These cattle are eating the paddy crops in the fields, due to which the farmers are facing losses. Regarding the matter, the affected farmers under the leadership of Sarpanch Shankar Netam of Gram Panchayat Ratnabandha have complained and demanded action against the cattle owners who cause damage to the crops.
This year, farmers of the district have planted paddy on a large scale as Rabi crop. Now that the crop is ripe, some cattle owners from nearby villages are deliberately leaving their cattle in the paddy fields being prepared.
Sarpanch Shankar Netam of Gram Panchayat Ratnabandha said that some owners are getting the paddy crop licked by cattle. Farmers Lalaram Sahu, Samendra Sinha, Dayaram, Nathoram Sahu, Hriday Ram, Roopchand Sahu, Dularram Sahu, Shiv Dhruv, Domesh told that some cattle owners of the village leave their cattle in the fields taking advantage of the darkness of night. These cattle are causing huge damage to the crops by grazing throughout the night. If this is not taken care of soon, most of the farmers will drown in debt. Keeping this in mind, a complaint has been lodged in the city police station demanding action against the cattle owners.
On this occasion, Deputy Sarpanch Prakash Yadav, Jayant Sen, Narendra Meenpal and other farmers were present.
