Delhi Rajendra Nagar News : Three UPSC students have died due to water logging in the basement of a coaching centre in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. The basement of RAU's IAS coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar suddenly got flooded on Saturday. Two people have been detained and are being questioned in this case. Meanwhile, the Delhi government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

Students got angry, protests started

After the incident, students got angry and started protesting outside the coaching centre. The protesting students are raising slogans against the MCD and the coaching centre. On the order of magistrate's inquiry, a protesting student said, 'There is no one to take responsibility here. We want someone from the government to come here and take responsibility of the students who lost their lives. By tweeting, writing letters, sitting in your AC room, how are you improving people's future? When people come to ask for votes, they come to our homes and when a tragedy happens, they sit at home and write letters.

'Floods arrive in 10-15 minutes'

Another student said, 'The biggest problem is that 80 percent of the library is in the basement here. If it rains even for 10 minutes, it gets flooded here. Till date MCD has not done any work on this. This is the responsibility of MCD. Another student said, 'Now Delhi gets flooded in 10 to 15 minutes, this is the most posh area, people pay two and a half to three lakh rupees to study here. Therefore, the responsibility lies with MCD. If money has to be taken from a tapasvi, then this same MCD becomes very responsible. Today, this happened in a library where it took 12 to 15 hours to save people and still no one could be saved, 99 percent of the people could not be saved.

'This is not a disaster, it is MCD's negligence'

Another protesting student said, 'The MCD has said that this is a disaster but I believe it is complete negligence. I have been living here for two years. The water level rises up to the knees after half an hour of rain. This has been happening continuously for two years. Disaster is something that comes only once in a while but we have been facing this situation for the last two years.
