Guwahati, August 28 (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has once again spoken on the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM). Chief Minister Dr. Sarma has alleged that USTM owner Mahbubul Haque has obtained fake OBC certificates from Karimganj. A case will be registered against him for this.

The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference at Lok Seva Bhawan in the Secretariat on Tuesday. He said that naturally a case should be registered after obtaining a certificate in a fraudulent manner. The District Commissioner has been informed in this regard. An FIR will be lodged against him for obtaining a fake OBC certificate.

The Chief Minister also reacted to the USTM owner's comment on digging of hilly land. The Chief Minister said that mining is always bad, it cannot be good. Guwahati has nothing to do with mining in Amsang and Sonapur. If water has to come to Guwahati from Sonapur, it has to first climb the hill. Only then can the water come down. He pointed out that if the USTM owner has not said it in the context of water, but in general terms, then I will ask for action. Hill mining is always bad. I will tell the police and the forest department, this cannot happen in Amsang either.

Making a big comment on demography, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma told reporters that the demography of 19 thousand booths out of 28 thousand polling stations has changed. I would appeal to the Congress party that this is not a political game. We all have to fight together, but stay peacefully wherever you are. The Chief Minister said that we had also sent back three Bangladeshis yesterday. They had illegally entered Assam due to lack of food in Bangladesh. This has become a very important issue. It is also a challenge. He said that seeing the situation in Bangladesh, people were assuming that Hindu refugees from there would come to Assam, but it is happening the opposite, Hindus are not coming but Muslim Bangladeshi citizens are coming here in search of work. This is not only in Assam but Tripura Police and BSF have also caught many people and sent them back. He said that after illegally entering India from Bangladesh, Muslims intend to go directly to Tamil Nadu in South India. There they are going to work in a cloth mill. He said that I will write a letter to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and appeal for a thorough investigation into this. The number of people entering illegally is only 10 percent of the total.

It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister had said recently that USTM has excavated the hill soil, due to which the water of Meghalaya has turned towards Guwahati. Due to this, there is a situation of heavy waterlogging in Guwahati after a little rain. On this, the owner of USTM had said in his defense that hill soil is being excavated in Sonapur and Amsang. The Chief Minister gave his reaction on this.
