RS Pura (His). Taking strict action against drug smugglers and to eliminate drug menace from the society, local police on Friday registered a case under PIT NDPS Act against a wanted and notorious drug smuggler and he was sent to District Jail Kathua.
The notorious drug smuggler has been identified as Narinder Pal alias Bulla, son of Kaka Ram, resident of Puro Bhana RS Pura. A case was registered under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining a formal detention order from the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. After registering the case, the drug smuggler was taken into custody and later sent to the district jail of Kathua.
A number of cases were registered against the above mentioned drug smuggler who was involved in promoting drug abuse and trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of the area. Despite being involved in several FIRs, he did not reform his activities and was again promoting the drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth. The notorious drug smuggler has been successful in obtaining bail from the Hon'ble Court every time and to prevent the said person from indulging in criminal activities, a dossier (PIT NDPS Act) was recommended against him on which the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, PIT NDPS Act warrant was issued against him.
Local people of the area have appreciated the efforts of the police for taking a tough stance against drug smugglers.
