Case registered against five more farmers for burning crop residue, two farmers arrested

Fatehabad, 25 October (HIST). Legal action is being taken against farmers who burn crop residues in the district. In two such cases, the police have registered FIR against five farmers on Friday. Before this, till now FIR has been registered by the police against seven farmers. Till now the police has registered a case against 12 farmers. Bhuna police have arrested two farmers in connection with burning of crop residues.

In the complaint given to the police, Agriculture Supervisor Bhuna Rakesh has said that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Fatehabad has imposed a complete ban on burning the residue left after harvesting paddy. Last day, Harsek got a GPC location regarding setting fire to the field. After this complaint, the Agriculture Department team reached the spot and inspected the spot. The team found that farmer Satyanarayan, son of Ramprasad, resident of Nahla, had set fire to the stubble in 8 kanals, Tara and Pyara, son of Shyonarayan, resident of Nahla in 12 kanals. On this the team lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. In this matter, the police have registered a case against the three farmers. In the second case, in the complaint given to Sadar Tohana police, Agricultural Development Officer Tohana Suresh Kumar said that after the location sent by Harsek, when the team of Agriculture Department reached the spot, they found that farmer Krishna Kumar, son of Mewa Ram, resident of Rupawali, in 16 Kanal, Rajpal's son Mewa Singh Rupawali had set fire to the stubble in his field. On this, the police have registered a case against both the brothers.

Taking action in the case of burning of crop residues despite the ban, Bhuna police station has arrested two farmers. The arrested farmers have been identified as Wazir Singh, son of Netram, resident of Baijalpur and Sushil Kumar alias Aloo, son of Satyawan, resident of Khairi. However, both the farmers have been released on bail by the police. Bhuna police station in-charge Inspector Pradeep said that the police had registered a case in this regard on October 21 on the complaint of Agriculture Supervisor Preeti from Agriculture Development Officer Bhuna office. According to the complainant, despite the ban imposed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate on burning paddy crop residues, these farmers have set fire to the paddy residues in their fields.
