Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s film was released on January 17, but some objections were raised about this film in India. Apart from this, there were protests against the film in London also, when some Khalistani supporters tried to stop the screening of the film by entering the theatre. After this incident, Britain’s Conservative Party MP condemned the attack and appealed to Britain’s Home Secretary to intervene in the matter.

Controversy regarding Kangana’s film

Conservative Party MP Bob Blackman told in the House of Commons (Parliament of Britain) that attempts were also made to stop the screening of the film in Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Slough, Staines and Manchester. Due to this, View and Cine World cinema chains decided to remove the film from many theaters across the country.

Kangana’s film issue in British Parliament

Bob Blackman in the House of Commons said, “Some people from my area went to watch Kangana’s film ‘Emergency’ at Harrow View Cinema on 19 January. 30-40 minutes after the film started, some masked Khalistani supporters entered the cinema hall and threatened the audience, following which the screening of the film stopped. This film is controversial, but I support people’s right to watch films. This film reflects the time when Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister.”

Protest during screening in UK

Some British Sikh communities in the United Kingdom had protested against Kangana’s film ‘Emergency’, believing that the film was anti-Sikh. Kangana is playing the role of Indira Gandhi in this film.
