Hamirpur, 06 November (HS). The provincial leadership of BJP has taken major action on Wednesday in the case of Brahmin journalists being stripped, held hostage for three hours, beaten and tortured by making them drink urine in Hamirpur district. The chairman of the Nagar Panchayat involved in the incident has been shown the way out of the BJP. After this action, the police has started a campaign to crack down on the accused.

Let us tell you that Amit Dwivedi and Shailendra Mishra, residents of Sarila town of Hamirpur district, are regional journalists. These people were called home before the Diwali festival and Nagar Panchayat Sarila Chairman Pawan Raja Anuragi and his henchmen took them hostage at gunpoint. The journalists were stripped and beaten severely for three hours. Not only this, even after the journalists apologized, they were made to drink urine. After enduring inhuman torture for three hours, the victim journalist reached Jariya police station where, based on his complaint, the police registered a case against six named and two unidentified people including the chairman. Medical examination of the injured journalists was conducted but the police did not take any action against the high profile accused. Later, the victimized journalists approached the DGP and the Human Rights Commission and pleaded for justice. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also condemned this incident and made a big comment against the government. After the matter got heated, the police here arrested four accused involved in the incident and sent them to jail.

Brahmins also got angry over the inhuman torture inflicted on Brahmin journalists.

The inhuman torture given to the regional journalist, who belongs to the Brahmin caste, enraged even the Brahmins of the parliamentary constituency. Brahmin Mahasabha had protested at other places including Hamirpur and Mahoba and demanded the arrest of the BJP leader and chairman, the main accused in the incident. Organizations of journalists in many districts of the state had also protested against the Hamirpur incident. After which the provincial leadership of BJP has taken a big decision.

BJP now shows the way out to Nagar Panchayat Chairman

Regarding the incident that happened with regional journalists, BJP District President Sunil Pathak had written a letter to the State President and recommended action against Nagar Panchayat Sarila Chairman Pawan Raja Anuragi. Many leaders including the BJP District President visited the house of the victim journalists today and assured the grieving family of strict action against the accused.
