Mumbai, July 13 (HS). Based on a complaint by a farmer, Pune Rural Police has registered a case against five people including controversial IAS officer Pooja Khedkar's mother Manorama Khedkar, father Dilip Khedkar for threatening the farmer with a pistol. The case is being investigated by a team of Daund Police Station.
According to Manoj Yadav, senior police inspector of Paund police station, based on the video released on social media and the complaint of farmer Kuldeep Pasalkar, an FIR was registered against five people including Manorama Khedkar on Friday night under sections 323, 504, 506 of the IPC. Charges under the Arms Act have also been included in this case. Police are trying to find out whether they had a license for firearms.
According to the information, Dilip Khedkar, father of controversial trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, is a retired officer. He had bought land in Dhadwali village of Mulshi tehsil in Pune. The Khedkar family wanted to occupy the plot next to this land while the farmers were opposing it. This video of the same time has now gone viral on social media. In the two-minute video, Pooja Khedkar's mother Manorama Khedkar is seen arguing with neighboring farmers along with her security guards. Manorama Khedkar can be seen shouting at a man with a pistol in his hand. She goes to him and waves the gun in his face and then hides it in her hand.
A senior officer of Pune Rural Police said, “We have taken cognizance of the video circulating on social media platforms. We will start an investigation after ascertaining the facts. We will investigate whether Manorama Khedkar has a gun license or not.”
Regarding this incident, farmer Kuldeep Pasalkar claimed that Manorama Khedkar was trying to forcibly grab his land. Kuldeep Pasalkar alleged, “She is threatening other farmers as well. She came to my plot with some security guards and started threatening us with a gun in her hand.”
