According to prosecutors, from 2019 to 2021, Lee took advantage of his positions as head coach of the national team and national selection team to influence matters such as the selection of players for the national team, matches, and signing contracts with clubs. Provided assistance to concerned organizations and individuals. In total, he illegally obtained more than 50.89 million yuan (about US$7.04 million) from others during this period.
He was also accused of several bribery offenses committed while working for local football clubs from 2015 to 2019.
Prosecutors presented their evidence in court, which was cross-examined by the defendant and his defense attorney. Lee pleaded guilty and expressed remorse in his final statement. The decision will be announced in due course.
