Car Driving Record: You must have often read or heard about technical faults in cars. After this, people keep asking car companies to replace parts or get them repaired, but recently a case has come to light which has surprised everyone. Canadian Indian Arun Ghosh has a Honda Accord sedan car and now the odometer of his car is not working. Due to this, he has made a special demand from the car company.
Actually, Ghosh has travelled many kilometres in his car. Now his odometer is not showing a number more than 9,99,999. Troubled by this, Ghosh has demanded a special odometer from the car company. Ghosh is demanding a customized 7-digit odometer from Honda so that he can keep a driving record of his favourite car in future.
According to media reports, Ghosh is originally from Kerala and went to Canada in 2017. Here he bought his dream car Honda Accord. He is very fond of driving. When his car completed 5 lakh km, one of his friends inspired him to complete 10 lakh km. Recently on 30 July 2024, his happiness knew no bounds when his car fell 100 km short of completing the journey of 10 lakh km.
After this, he went on a drive with his friend to complete the target of 10 lakh km but during the journey the odometer of the car stopped at 9,99,999 km as it did not have any system to display 7 digits. In his statement to the media Ghosh says, “He expected that the odometer of his car would show 10,00,000 km but this could not happen as the odometer was not equipped with 7 digits.”
Ghosh approached his local Honda dealership to get a customised odometer installed in the car. Shamil Becharbhai, director of the Honda dealership in St. Catharines, Ontario, was surprised to see the car's odometer.
In his statement to CBC News, Shamil said, “In his 20 years in the business, he had never seen a car that had travelled such a long distance. Earlier, according to his knowledge, the car had travelled about 5 times. 50,000 km.” Currently, the dealership is also trying to find a solution to Ghosh's problem.
