Houston: According to a media report, three members of an Indian-origin family have died in a car accident in Texas state. According to the report, this incident took place near Lampasas County, Texas.
According to a report in the Austin American Statesman, 45-year-old Arvind Mani, his 40-year-old wife Pradeepa Arvind and their 17-year-old daughter Andril Arvind died in a car accident. All of them were residents of Leander.
The deceased couple's 14-year-old son Adrian survived because he was not in the car. Now he is the only surviving member of this family. Now many people and organizations have come forward to help the surviving child.
The page set up for financial aid has raised more than seven million dollars so far. Arvind and his wife were driving their daughter to college in North Texas when the accident happened. His 17-year-old daughter had recently graduated from high school and was about to enter the University of Dallas, where she planned to study computer science.
According to officials, five people, including the car driver, have died in the accident. According to local media, there is no hope for the injured to survive.
This is one of the worst accidents seen in 26 years.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPSC), two cars collided due to a tire blowout.
The speed of one car is estimated to be 161 kmph and the speed of the other car is estimated to be 112 kmph.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. on US Highway 281.
The accident occurred when a rear tire blew on a southbound 2004 Cadillac CTS, causing the car to lose control and veer into oncoming traffic.
At that point, it collided with a northbound 2024 Kia Telluride driven by Arvind Mani while the Cadillac CTS was driven by Jacinto Gudino Duran, 31, of Copperas Cove, Texas. A woman was also in the car.
