West Bengal: A petition has been filed in the Calcutta High Court regarding the violence that took place in Murshidabad district on the day of Ramnami. The court has asked the state government to file the report in the form of an affidavit. The court has also asked the Election Commission to postpone the election of Behrampur constituency in view of the current situation. Let us tell you that a petition was filed demanding NIA investigation into this matter. The next hearing in this regard will be held on April 26.

Regarding the riots during the Ram Naomi procession in Behrampur in Murshidabad district, the High Court on Tuesday commented that 'I will ask the Election Commission to delay the elections to be held in Behrampur on May 13.'

Calcutta High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam has made this comment regarding the violence against Ram Naomi. He remarked that where people cannot celebrate the festival peacefully for eight hours, there is no need to vote at this time.

Actually, there was violence during the Ram Naomi procession in Rejinagar area of ​​Murshidabad. According to the information, when the procession was passing through Shantipur area of ​​Rejinagar, some people threw bricks and bombs from the roof of the house. Many people were injured in this incident. Tension had spread in the entire area regarding the Ram Naomi incident. The administration had to remove the referee to handle the situation.

Case filed in Calcutta High Court

A case was filed in the Calcutta High Court regarding the riots in Baharampur regarding the Ram Naomi procession. The prosecution demanded that the NIA be allowed to investigate the incident. On Tuesday, this case was heard in the division bench of the Chief Justice. In that hearing, the petitioner's lawyer expressed concern about the Ram Naomi riots in front of the Chief Justice. The plaintiff informed the court about all the incidents of unrest that took place not only in Baharampur but also on the day of Ramnami in the state.
