Ranchi, 07 October (Hindustan Reporter). Keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand in 2024, the Election Commission held an important meeting with political party representatives on Monday. State convenor of Law Cell Sudhir Srivastava and Subodh Kant were present in the meeting from BJP side. Sudhir Srivastava said that mainly two things came to light in today's meeting in which it was told that on the election day, booth agents will not be able to put flags and banners of political parties on their tables outside the booth. There will be only two chairs and one table at the booth, in which there will be no election symbol or flag, banner or sticker of the party. Besides, keeping food items there is also prohibited and eating and drinking while sitting there is also prohibited. He told that political party candidates will be able to spend up to Rs 40 lakh in this election.

If this order is violated, a case will be registered through the administration. Apart from this, the Election Commission will mark the place three days before the election for the booth agents of political parties to sit at a distance of 200 meters outside the booth and the booth agents will sit at this marked place. This is the first such system in the whole of India which is being used in the Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024. Before today, there was never a rule that there would not be any flag or banner where the agents sit outside the booth to give out slips for the cooperation of the voters.
