The Canadian government has issued an official statement regarding the attack on the house of an associate of pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. SFJ accused of attack
Earlier, the group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had alleged that India was behind the attack on Simranjit Singh's house on the morning of February 1. SFJ also blamed India for the attack in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) on 12 February. In this attack, the under construction house of Inderjit Singh Ghoshal was targeted. Inderjit was accused of allegedly helping in the Khalistan referendum.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered last year
Earlier, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada on June 18 last year. Hardeep Singh was known as a pro-Khalistan leader. After his murder, it was feared that the Indian government was behind this murder. However, India has always denied these allegations.
India-Canada relations turned sour last year
Relations between India and Canada have been tense for the last one year. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in the House of Commons on September 18 that Nijjar was murdered by Indian agents. After this statement the relations between the two countries deteriorated.
