India-Canada relations: The Canadian government is now on the back foot in the Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar murder case. The Government of Canada has issued a statement. In which he said, ‘There is no evidence of the role of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high officials in any kind of criminal activity in Canada, including the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.’
Government of Canada clarification
The Canadian government clarified that, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval have no role in any kind of criminal activity in the country. This clarification has been made after a report published in a Canadian newspaper. In which it was claimed that India had allegedly conspired to murder Nijjar. But now the Canadian government has distanced itself from the allegations and clarified that it has found no evidence to support the allegations. The media report in this regard is completely false and suspicious.
India also rejected this report
This report was also rejected by India. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘We generally do not comment on media reports. However, such ridiculous statements made to a newspaper by a Canadian government source should be dismissed with the same contempt. Causing further damage to our already strained relations.
What is Nijjar massacre?
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a Khalistani terrorist. Who was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada on 18 June 2023. Canada accused India of killing Nijjar, although it failed to provide any evidence. Nijjar was originally a resident of Bhar Singh Pura village of Jalandhar, Punjab. NIA had placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Nijjar. He also had links with the terrorist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ).
