Brampton, November 10 (HS). Police have arrested another accused, who has been identified as Khalistan supporter Inderjit Gosal (35), in connection with the recent disturbance in a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. Indrajit Gosal, accused of attack with a weapon, was arrested on 8 November. However, he was later released on certain conditions. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
Canada's Peel Police said in its statement that about one hundred videos of the incident are being examined to identify and arrest more suspects involved in this crime. In these videos, people were seen attacking other people using flags and sticks.
It is noteworthy that on November 3, pro-Khalistan protesters attacked people in the Hindu Sabha temple located in Brampton city of Greater Toronto area of Ontario. Pro-Khalistan protesters had disrupted the program organized by the temple authorities and the Indian Consulate.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had condemned the attack by sharing a post on Twitter. The Indian High Commission also condemned the violent disruption by “anti-India” elements outside a consular camp in Canada. Chandra Arya, MP from Ontario's Nepean region, also posted on Twitter, saying, “Some leaders are deliberately avoiding mentioning and blaming Khalistanis for this attack. They are blaming other elements. In reality, Hindu-Canadians and Sikh-Canadians are on one side and Khalistani are on the other.”
